One word… Exhausted!!

On Friday Brad picked up Samantha for her first ever over night stay with us. Sam was super excited, and was happy to be here. Our boys and Samantha ran around like crazy kids. Anyone would have thought all that running around and playing would have worn the kids out. But…. No such luck. It wasn’t until midnight that the kids were all finally sleeping. I was beginning to get frustrated with Samantha. Bradley had already fallen asleep, and she woke him up several times. Then I heard her over the baby monitor telling Parker that she was going to put a “bugger” between Bradley’s eyes so that he had 3 eyes. That did not sit well with me. That is down and out right gross. My boys ages 4,3, and 2 don’t ever do things like that! I figured Sam wouldn’t either since she is 9.

But anyways once all the kids were asleep, I went to bed. It was probably about 1am or later until I was finally able to sleep though. I had Dustin in bed with Brad and I, and of course Dustin had an accident and wet the bed. Not only did he wet the bed, but did it right where I had to sleep. Lucky me! So I had to change the sheets, and put new clothes on Dustin.
At around 5:45 AM… yes that’s right 5 in the morning I heard Samantha waking up Bradley and Parker. The sun wasn’t even up all the way, and now I had 3 kids awake and carrying on. I woke up Brad, whom was a complete grouch, so I just gave up and dealt with everything on my own. I took the kids and gave them breakfast, and they played the Wii. At 10am I woke up Brad, and was sooo happy to have him wake up. I was tired, and wanted him to help. I had all the kids ready, and dressed so Brad got ready and we took the kids to McDonalds. It was so nice having a place where the kids could run and be crazy, and be able to burn off energy.

Brad and I were proud of Dustin at McDonalds. Dustin has been in the play area several times, and has really gotten brave, and great at climbing threw those tunnels. Bradley & Parker at Dustin’s age would never have even thought of going up into the tunnels, and until this day won’t go across the bridge with netting. Dustin zoomed across that bridge today, and even went down the slide backwards lol.
It was nice to be able to spend some real time with Samantha though. I am glad everyone is getting along now. I will say though, it was a lot more work than with just my 3 boys. I wouldn’t have thought one extra kid would make much of a difference, but it did. It was a lot more work for me! I guess that’s OK though, kids are worth the work. I just look forward to going to bed tonight lol. I’m exhausted!
