Wisdom Teeth :o(

>> Thursday, May 27, 2010

In my 24 years of life, I have never needed any dental work. No cavities, no teeth pulled, nothing! Well recently I have been having issues with my wisdom teeth. After a really nasty infection, I finally went to a dentist. I have no insurance and have been putting this off for a while. Well, I went to this dentist thinking that they were just going to do a assessment, tell me how bad it is, and have me come back to actually pull the teeth out. Instead, they did a quick X-ray, the dentist looked in my mouth, and told me he wanted both wisdom teeth out. Then a few moments later, a nurse came in and told me they would be removing both of my wisdom teeth today. I then became very nervous, and for very good reason.
One word to describe that experience- horrible!!! I have gone threw 3 C-sections, and I would take a C-section over having my wisdom teeth pulled out. The sound alone of the teeth being ripped out of bone had me freaking out. Not to mention the feeling of someone ripping teeth out of your mouth. The dentist who did this was awesome. I would highly recommend him, but I would suggest he take down the sign in his waiting room. The wooden sign they have hanging above the receptionists desk, which says “Painless Dentist”. This guy was a great dentist and did everything to assure I was as comfortable as you could possibly be.. Not that your that comfortable while teeth are being yanked out.
Right now only 5.5 hours after having my teeth out.. I feel awful!! I am in SO much pain. I can not talk, so I figured I’d write a blog post. Thank god I have my mom here helping me with my boys. Other wise I’d be in trouble. Especially since the boys are taking advantage of mommy not being able to talk. Bradley has even been doing bad things in front of me knowing I can not yell at him, and don’t feel well enough to chase after him to put him on time out.
I will just be happy when this pain subsides. One positive note about having the pain - I can not eat and it will help me with my diet. Lol. Ugh… I am off to ice my face, and hoping the swelling goes down, and the pain stops!

Our boys Graduation

Bradley and Parker graduated from their 2nd year of preschool. I was happy to hear how well they did, and how smart our boys are. The graduation went OK I suppose. Although last year’s graduation was much nicer. It was more organized, and the boys had a really good time. This year’s was a little unorganized, and Bradley & Parker didn’t want any part of it. Bradley reluctantly went up to receive his preschool diploma, Parker wouldn’t even do that. He sat in the grass and cried. His teacher had to come to him and give him his prizes and diploma.

Brad took some video of the boys graduation, and I tried hard to take pictures. Of course Dustin wouldn’t have any of it. The entire time he stood at my feet and cried “mommy, mommmmyyy” while stomping his feet, and holding his arms in the air. UGH!! I was disappointed as to how it all went, and even more disappointed at the fact that the home video from last year was lost. I had video of my happy little boys participating, and having a good time. For some reason, my stupid video camera failed me, and the disk was corrupted. I watched the home video once on my video camera, then when I tried to view it again once the whole disk was full.. Gone! Heartbreaking for mommy!

Not the Easter bunny

>> Thursday, May 20, 2010

Dustin was very facinated watching a wild rabbit in our back yard. I decided to tell my older boys to look too. Bradley took a quick look, then went back to what he was doing. Parker took one look and said "Mommy that's not the right bunny! Where is that big giant bunny who brings candy?" lol. Parker had me laughing. Here is a picture of the bunny that Dustin really loved.

Sam's concert

Samantha had a concert for school this past Tuesday. Brad & I bought a bouquet of flowers for Brad to give to her after the show. Sam was SO happy to receive the flowers from her dad. She was a little reluctant to give him a hug though, because her mother was watching. But she was so happy she gave Brad a big hug and thanked him.

Here is my entry for I heart faces. I took this picture last summer of my son Parker. I have always loved this picture of him. He was having a good time posing for pictures, and playing with the flowers.

That’s not water in the dog bowl...

>> Friday, May 7, 2010

This afternoon my oldest son Bradley, came running to me to tell me to look in our dogs bowl. The dog bowl is one of those raised feeders, so your dog doesn’t have to slouch down to eat. Well anyway, apparently it also works well as a urinal for my two year old son. It must have been the perfect height for my little man to just take a quick leak into. When Bradley announced what he had found, Dustin already knew he was in trouble. Before I could even get into the kitchen to see what was in the bowl Dustin had run to the step (where they have time out) and sat his little bottom on time out. I couldn’t help but laugh at the yellow water in the dogs bowl. I figure if I don’t laugh at some of the bad things my kids do, I will lose my mind. I must find humor in some of it.

For example the flood that took place in our one and only bathroom thanks to Dustin, and an entire roll of toilet paper. Not to mention a few weeks prior one of the boys had opened a bathroom cabinet near the bathroom door and somehow wedged the bathroom door shut. Daddy had to take the door all the way off the hinges just to get the bathroom door opened.

My boys are always getting into something. But I have found that it is usually always Parker, and Dustin. My oldest boy very seldom gets in any type of trouble. I am not sure why the younger two are always looking for things to get into.

I am really looking forward to our family vacation to the beach this year. Our boys are a bit older this year, and are really looking forward to going to the beach. I love watching them build sand castles and play in the waves. Our vacation will be a lot shorter this year because of financial issues, but we feel our kids deserve to have a fun family vacation. After all they aren’t little forever. We want to enjoy it while it lasts. They have already grown up so much from last summer. They grow up so fast. Too fast!

Mom's B-day

Mom celebrated her birthday on April 29th. I made her a strawberry short cake. Bradley, Parker and Dustin were real excited about the cake. In fact before my mom could even get home, one of them had stuck their finger threw the whip cream frosting lol.

On Friday Brad and I took my mom out to dinner for her B-day, since we couldn't do it on Thursday. My brother and his family came also, and the restaurant really ticked me off. Instead of sitting us all together they put half of us in a booth, and the rest of us at a table diagonal from each other. Boy did that suck!! We couldn't really talk to one another, and even had different servers. But I still think it went OK. I hope my mom had a happy birthday.
